Hello and Welcome to Nature's Mosaics.  Here is a little about Carrie Bracker, Mosaic Artist.

Carrie was born and raised in Nogales Arizona. She comes from a very creative family and a mother, who taught and encouraged her to play and explore many different mediums of art. Carrie moved to Maine in 2004 and now calls Maine home..

Carrie found mosaics in the fall of 2001 after watching a British gardening show which featured a ceramic mosaic artist. Watching her make the mosaic was so intriguing, she decided to give it a try. However Carrie wanted to use glass instead. A six week stained glass course taught her how to cut glass and gave me the basics for mosaics. To get a better feel of what mosaics were all about, Carrie took several courses on mosaic technique and studied with professionals across the country.  She then found her own style and technique of mosaics.

Carrie's primary focus has been on Nature, with its simplicities yet mysterious complexities. Thats where the name for her business comes from, Nature's Mosaics. Her eye for composition, vision for color and light and her attraction to shapes, textures and design enabled her to create extraordinary images of ordinary and common subjects. She gathers her information from the natural beauty that surrounds us in nature. Carrie is drawn to glass because of its colors and texture. She likes how every piece of glass has it's own personality. Many of Carrie's pieces had its beginnings from a flea market or garage sale. She loves to work with old and used items and then breath new life into them. Another passion of her's is to experiment with found objects or items gathered from nature, such as rocks,  pebbles, wood, rusted metal, beach glass, sea shells or bottle caps. Carrie also added fused glass as a medium so she could make her own tiles for her mosaics.

Each mosaic Carrie makes is a one-of- a-kind mosaic. Some of the items may look similar but no two items are alike. Each mosaic is designed, fabricated and installed by Carrie for residential, commercial and public area commissions.
